The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the AFCAT 01/2026 Notification for recruitment of Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. Both male and female candidates can apply online from 17 November 2025 to 14 December 2025. The online AFCAT examination will be conducted on 31 January 2026.

Eligibility, Educational Qualification & Experience
Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian citizen.
Flying Branch:
- 10+2 with 50% marks each in Maths and Physics, and
- Graduation (any discipline) with minimum 60% marks, or
- BE/B.Tech degree with minimum 60% marks, or
- Cleared Section A & B of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) / Aeronautical Society of India with 60% marks.
Ground Duty (Technical):
- Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics/Mechanical): Minimum 50% marks each in Physics and Maths at 10+2 level and four-year degree in relevant Engineering/Technology branch with minimum 60% marks.
Ground Duty (Non-Technical):
- Admin/Logistics: Graduate with 60% marks.
- Accounts: B.Com/BBA (Finance)/BMS (Finance) with 60% or CA/CMA/CS/CFA.
- Education: Postgraduate with 50% and Graduation with 60%.
- Meteorology: B.Sc. with Physics and Maths or Engineering degree with 60%.

Salary
Selected candidates will be commissioned as Flying Officers with a pay scale of Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 1,77,500 (Pay Level-10) plus allowances. Flying Officers also receive Flying Allowance, Technical Allowance, and Military Service Pay as per rules.

- Duration: 2 Hours
- Subjects: General Awareness, English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning & Military Aptitude
- Questions: 100 (300 Marks)
- Marking: +3 for correct, -1 for wrong answer
